Overview

The Department of Sociology has been considered as the most important Department of Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. The sociologist are the doctor of society as they indicate / probe the social issues /evils and crime reasons of the society. A sociologist apart from imparting quality of education, focuses on character building, grooming and personal development of the students. The GNIES mission is to enable students to develop analytical ability to understand and respond to changes in social, political and economic domains in an effective way. The sociology department will create a real culture of research. As thesis is a compulsory for the fulfilment of Sociology Degree program, therefore, the department will focus on real issues of the national as well as regional aspects. The reasons of different issues and their solutions will be shared with the concerned National Building Departments, so that the real/ground reality may be addressed.

The Department of Sociology has been established at GNIES. First batch for admission in the Department has been started due to demand of the area. It has been decided by the GNIES Authorities that Morning/Evening Sessions may be started in the best interest of the students as well as the area. The Faculty of the Department consists of professional and experienced teachers. In addition, renowned professors have been engaged as visiting faculty to ensure their maximum exposure for our students.
