MS/MPhil Business Administration

IN THE LIGHT OF NATIONAL BUSINESS EDUCATION ACCREDITATION COUNCIL (NBEAC) AND HIGHER EDUCATION COMMISSION (HEC) OF PAKISTAN, HERE IS A PROPOSED SCHEME OF STUDY FOR THE MPhil. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION and MS MANAGEMENT SCIENCES PROGRAMS AT IBA-DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT, GHAZI NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND SCIENCES (GNIES) DERA GHAZI KHAN.

Eligibility Criteria:

     • Sixteen years of relevant schooling from HEC recognized Institutes/Universities
         in or outside Pakistan.
     • 2.5 CGPA in the last degree (if under semester system) or high Second Division
        (Minimum 55% marks) if under an annual system, with a minimum of 50% marks
         in overall academic career.
     • Minimum 50% cumulative score in NTS General or 60% cumulative score in
         GNIES test.
     • Pass an aptitude test and interview conducted by the GNIES
         Interview/Admission Committee.
Duration of Degree:
1.5 to 4 years
Program Instructions:
     • Completion of a minimum of total 30 credit hours consisting of 8 courses (24 credit hours) and a Thesis of 6 credit hours.
     • Semester-wise registration for thesis with a 3-credit-hour option each &nbsp semester.
     • Maximum 3 semesters freezing option subject to approval.
     • CGPA requirement of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
Program Requirements:
     • Pass deficiency courses recommended by the interview panel.
     • Pass prescribed eight courses of 3 credit hours each.
     • Supervisor selection as per HEC requirement from within the University.
     • Proposal development and approval.
     • Semester-wise submission of research results.
     • Completion of six credits MPhil/MS Thesis.
     • Selection of External Evaluators and Defense Examiner.
     • Evaluation of Thesis by external faculty members.
     • Thesis finalization and submission.
     • Completion of student files with all required documents.
Admission Process:
     • Preliminary interview
     • Submission of online application form and academic documents
     • Passing GNIES written test (if applicable)
     • Formal panel interview
     • Payment of fees
     • Request for Credit Transfer (if any)

     • Research Proposal Template submission to ORIC
     • Appointment of Evaluators and Examiners by ORIC
Proposal Development:
     • Proposal preparation as per standard guidelines
     • Forwarding proposal to relevant authorities
     • Proposal defense before a review committee
MS/MPhil Proposal Defense:
     • Proposal submission and defense scheduling
     • Proposal defense conducted on Fridays
     • Incorporation of changes recommended by the defense committee
